In the early 1950’s, a small group of men of Italian descent felt the need of an organization dedicated to the needs and desires of  Italian-Americans in the West Haven area. They envisioned a place where they could meet and socialize with like-minded individuals having family roots back to hometowns in Italy.
Starting in a small way they formed and chartered their association with the State of Connecticut as the West Haven Italian American Civic Association Incorporated.
